Frogs 2022 – Part I

As you probably know I have a lot of fun photographing these little frogs and their friends. It’s not my intention to portray them as they are in the wild. Finding props to show off their colors and agility is part of the fun. The frogs are carefully handled by their owner and come to no harm while being photographed. After eleven years of photographing them they still bring a smile to my heart.

Below are the first of some of my images from this year’s frog shoot.

Frogs And Friends

Flowers are always a great way to show off the frogs. Of course, there’s always the possibility that you could find a frog on a flower in Nature. 😉 A trip to the florist right before the shoot usually produces good results.

I also look for small plants to complement my frogs. (I’ve got quite a collection of succulents that have grown too big to use that are now in my new succulent garden.) I keep an eye out year round for plants that look frog friendly.

I started experimenting with black plexi-glass a number of years ago. Both the reflections and black background give a whole different look to the images. You’ll note that the last image is not a frog, but a gecko. I photographed several of these little guys this year.

I have more images to get ready for another post. Photographing these frogs is always fun for me. I hope you’ve enjoyed seeing these. There will be more to come!

Thanks for joining me! Cheryl
