PART III
Our guide took us to a bear who was relaxing on a log near a small inlet. Unfortunately, the mosquitos were so bad that he couldn’t get comfortable. His solution was fun to watch and gave me the images for this series. (Click on the images to enlarge)
Part III
Much to my surprise the bear got off his log, walked to the water and got in. He seemed to contemplate what to do next, but since the mosquitos had been buzzing about his eyes and nose he finally dunked his head in the water submerging most of his body thus deterring the insects.
As any good dog knows the best way to dry off is by rubbing….in this case in volcanic sand. Momentarily relieved from the mosquitos the wet and sandy bear headed back to his log for a much deserved rest.
